Half of Yellow Sun African turned in a film

If you haven’t gotten around to locking in your New Year’s resolution, here is something that you may want to add as a must read, or for you movie fanatics – a must see. The novel written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie called Half of a Yellow Sun was made into a movie in 2014. This movie feature Academy Awards nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor and BAFTA Award Winner Thandie Newton.

The story focuses on the relationships of five people during the 1960s timeframe in Nigeria. Their experiences are surrounded by the time when Nigeria went through their civil strife – Biafra War that took the lives of more than a million people. The impact on country and the surrounding circumstances bring forth a true African story that you have to see during the course of this year.
